You can't be too thin, even if you're a light box!,
This review is from: Artograph 12 inch by 9 inch Light Pad Light Box (Misc.)
I originally bought the Artopgraph Light Tracer II, which, while less expensive, is a more cumbersome plastic box that is lit with a fluorescent bulb. Although it is a good product, I decided to return it and purchase this Lightpad instead, for one reason. The Lightpad is very thin--it's even slim enough to slide onto a bookshelf. It's so much easier to store away without having to find space in a closet (with all the other craft items!). Bonus, it comes with a protective sleeve to keep it safe when not in use.
The screen is smaller than the plastic tracer, but here's my solution: I'm tracing an Impressionist painting onto needlepoint canvas. Canvas size is 18 X 23. I went to Hobby Lobby and had the framing department cut a piece of clear acrylic 19 X 24; I then taped the painting and canvas securely to the acrylic and I move it around on the lightpad to trace the picture. It works perfectly. Great product. Highly recommended.

Large, Thin, Bright, Transportable,
This review is from: Artograph LightPad A950 LED Lightbox- 17x24 Inch (Misc.)I was looking for a medium to large light table type device that would not take up alot of space when not in use. Preferably LED based for durability and low operating costs.
o Compact. In relation to the large usable workspace.
+ LED Lighting, even enough for sketch/drafting work. May not be bright enough for someone looking to use it with slides.
+ Compact. The 17" x24" usable area has a border of 1 3/8" on all sides to the edge of the 5/8" thick aluminum frame. This is a good amount of usable space to tape your work down if desired.
+ Frame. The frame is smooth and squared/true making it function quite well as a strait/parallel border if you want to use it with a T-Square to draft with.
+ Cool running. The LED lights don't heat up like some old fashioned light tables.
+ Bright. I had to lay down 7 sheets of 98lb bond (160g) Canson Mix Media paper to completely block out the light from the table getting... Read more

power cord knocks it down two stars,
This review is from: Artograph LightPad Lightbox with 6-Inch by 9-Inch work surface (Misc.)
This is the perfect size to put in your backpack. I originally bought the 12"x9" but returned it for a more portable size. Within the last year the power supply cord tore where it's connected to the charger and doesn't work anymore. I took good care of it and feel the cord should not have shredded like that from normal wear and tear.
