Not much to say really, it's a hunk of metal on a stick, and it's kind of hard to mess that up. I've used it for some light metal work, adding some 'artistic' hand crafting designs to brass and aluminum shoe and bracelet tags and have no complaints.

I really have mixed feelings about these hammers. For me as an auto mechanic they are fine. I just beat stuff when another tool won't do what I need. Break stuff loose and things of that nature. There is some finishing flaws on the head. Which is really disappointing considering the other tools I have from Tekton have had great finishes to them. But then again it is a hammer. and it will suffice for my purpose. If you are going to use these to actually shape metal and not just hammer stuff then I would suggest another set.
Now for me and the reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 3 is the handle. It is really grippy and comfortable to hold in the hand especially when compared to wooden handles. Even if my hands are oily or greasy I can still get a good grip on the hammer. and not worry about it slipping. Just really wish this would have been as clean and well finished as my other Tekton tools.

Its okay. .
Im a mechanic so this gets used fairly often, but after maybe a week of use the head already started separating from the handle. At first it was just a little loose, wasn't bothered by it. A couple uses later and there doesn't seem to be much of anything holding the head to the handle anymore and I'm afraid that one of these times I'll swing it and that head is just going to fly off.
Whatever that black resin looking stuff they put in the top to try and secure it with just doesn't do the job. First TEKTON tool I've been disappointed with, hopefully the last.

TEKTON 30401 Jacketed Fiberglass Ball Pein Hammer, 8-Ounce
OK this TEKTON 30401 Jacketed Fiberglass Ball Pein Hammer, 8-Ounce weight was about what I needed. Was assembling a tsuba, seppa and Tsuka and needed a light tapping device. This came out while looking through the options and I am happy with it. My one pound ball bein was a bit much and it is back out in the garage.

This is a great hammer. I love TEKTON tools and use them on a daily basis. I bought this hammer for a set of tools that I have been using in an automotive shop and it has performed great. The fiberglass shaft is very durable and helps to absorb any shock to your hands. The rubber grip is very comfortable and allows to user to always maintain great control of the tool. I would recommend TEKTON tools to everyone!

very happy overall.
Need a decent ball peen...here you go..I ordered the heavier one as i needed a larger hammer to bash off big drums and rotors on cars...and yes ive had some really really stuck 13 in drums that I knew i would not be able to turn so a couple wacks abd they were off...very happy overall...its a bit unweidly but it usually breaks stuff loose 1st or 2nd hit with a decent swing...good hammer to add to the bunch

This hammer is huge
This hammer will get anything done. I work as a mechanic and my co-workers are constantly asking me to borrow it to get something loose or simply break it. One of my best purchases on 2DayDeliver, and that's saying something.

- FINALLY! - a real 'ball' pein hammer ...
- I've been looking for a small -ball- pein hammer for some time and finally looked here. I've bought others - all US made, and NONE are very well done as far as being a 'ball' - what I -needed- to find. I would have liked to find a 4oz, but went ahead and bought this one. I LIKE it. Nicely finished - with a nice smooooth -round- 'ball' - like I had looked for. I did buy another brand 4oz and same brand 8oz - NOT worth buying IF you -really- want a 'ball' - they will be just another hammer unless I spend a LOT of time finishing them. This does come in a 4 hammer set - so if I needed that - I'd gamble on the set to save a little money. Overall seems to be quite nicely made and finished.

They seem of good quality. Better than harbor freight
They seem of good quality. Better than harbor freight. I use these at work everyday. I would buy again! Plus it has a lifetime warranty.
